Spice is a family business that began in the early 80's selling plimsolls in Camden Lock Market. "I remember getting up at 6am and working with my Mum and Sister in the freezing cold solidly every weekend from 7am to 7pm" says joint Owner and Head Buyer Gerard Levy. "It was tough, but it gave me a great education. My Mum was a real entrepeneur, she was one of the first people to have stall in Camden Lock Market and then opened a shop in an largely 'unknown' Primrose Hill. Incredible vision"
After working with several leading fashion accessory brands, Gerard took over the buying in the late 1990's. With the experience he had gained he set out invigorate the business. Soon Spice would be a destination and exclusive brand. Helen, retired in 2001 and Gerard and sister Simone now run the business.
So from humble beginings, Spice is now recognised as one of the leading shoe shops in the United Kingdom.
